PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tanjung Field is in Tanjung District, Tabalong Regency, which is an area in the lowlands, so the air temperature is classified as hot, while the climate conditions are classified as lowland with hot air due to being at the equator crossing. Tanjung District is south of Tabalong Regency, which is the eastern boundary of the Barito basin and is dominated by lowlands and swamps. The PEP Tanjung Field location has two main geographic features: lowlands and highlands. Lowland areas primarily consist of peatlands and wetlands, making them rich sources of freshwater wildlife biodiversity. Some of the highland regions are still natural tropical forests protected by the government.
