Supporting the Energy Transition, Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding Supplies National Gas Needs of 53,228 MMSCF

Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), as Pertamina's Upstream Subholding, continues its efforts to enhance performance in exploration and production through various collaborations. These initiatives aim to support Ntarbational energy capacity and align with the company's commitment to the energy transition. As part of these efforts, PHE signed several key agreements during the SCM Summit 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

In the realm of gas monetization to support the energy transition, PHE, through its affiliates, formalized seven Gas Sale and Purchase Agreements (PJBG), ensuring a total gas supply volume of 53,228 Million Standard Cubic Feet (MMSCF). The agreements include:
1.    PHE Jambi Merang and PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang: Supplying 39.825 billion British Thermal Units (BTU), equivalent to 34.934 MMSCF of gas.
2.    PT Pertamina EP and PT Igas Utama: Supplying 1,704.6 MMSCF of gas.
3.    PT Pertamina EP and PT Indo Bharat Rayon: Supplying 2.432 MMSCF of gas.
4.    PT Pertamina EP and PT Pelangi Cakrawala Losarang: Supplying 6.431 MMSCF of gas.
5.    PT Pertamina EP and PT Pertamina Gas: Supplying 4.386 MMSCF of gas.
6.    PT Pertamina EP and PT Sindangkasih Multi Usaha Kabupaten Majalengka: Supplying 2.851 MMSCF of gas.
7.    PT Pertamina EP Cepu and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk: Supplying 489.4 MMSCF of gas.

In addition to the gas agreements, the SCM Summit 2024 facilitated the signing of several contracts to support the upstream oil and gas supply chain, such as:
1.    The EPCI project for the OO-OX Field between PHE ONWJ and PT Meindo Elang Indah.
2.    An agreement for Multiregional Liner Hanger Provision between PT Pertamina EP and PT Sagatrade Murni.
3.    A Joint Procurement Agreement - Price Agreement for the Total Vendor Maintenance (TVM) Turbine Package Solar between PT Pertamina EP and PT Indoturbine.
4.    A Joint Use Agreement for a Jack-Up Rig between Kangean Energi Indonesia and PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur.

These partnerships reflect PHE's commitment to building a resilient supply chain and increasing operational efficiency, thus contributing to national energy security.

On this occasion, Arya Dwi Paramita, Corporate Secretary of PHE, emphasized PHE’s dedication to ensuring a reliable upstream oil and gas supply chain. He highlighted the importance of using local products, stating, “By increasing the use of domestic products, we not only boost the industrial sector but also create jobs, raise community income, and stimulate the national economy.”

PHE continues to promote the use of local products by encouraging manufacturers, vendors, and MSMEs to enhance product quality through assessments conducted in collaboration with SKK Migas and other KKKS. These efforts aim to strengthen the capacity of local businesses and support the upstream oil and gas industry.

In alignment with sustainable investment trends and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, PHE is committed to ethical business practices. Since June 2022, PHE has been a participant in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), adhering to its Ten Universal Principles. Furthermore, PHE upholds a Zero Tolerance on Bribery policy, implementing the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) in accordance with ISO 37001:2016.
