Visit of Pertamina EP's Oil and Gas Exploration Well Location, Metro Bekasi Police Chief Ensures Safe Operations

Bekasi - PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Zone 7, a Subholding Upstream of Pertamina in Java Region, received a field visit from Metro Bekasi Police Chief, Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi, along with his staff. Located at the exploration drilling well of PEP East Pondok Aren (EPN)-001 in Sukawijaya Village, Tambelang District, Bekasi Regency, on Tuesday (01/09).

During the visit, Tambelang Sub-District Head, Cecep Supriyadi, AKP Jefri as Tambelang Police Chief, and Harun as the Head of Sukawijaya Village were present. The Police Chief ensured that upstream oil and gas drilling activities were conducted safely.

Wazirul Luthfi, Head of Communication, Relations & CID Zone 7, in his speech, conveyed the progress of oil exploration activities. "The discovery of new oil and gas resources in EPN-001 is a commitment from PEP to maintain the support for national oil and gas production in the future," he explained.

EPN-001 is one of two new wells discovered by PEP in West Java Province. The drilling of the East Pondok Aren (EPN)-001 exploration well, which started on August 18, 2023, targeting the Lower Cibulakan Carbonate Formation reservoir, successfully flowed oil and gas on the second DST with an oil rate of 402 BOPD and a gas rate of 1.09 MMSCFD at a depth of 2,590 mMD.

Previously, Acting Regent of Bekasi, Dani Ramdan also visited the drilling site of the EPN-001 exploration well on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Aside from reviewing the progress of drilling, Dani Ramdan also emphasized the importance of PEP paying attention to the welfare of the surrounding community.

As a manifestation of company development as well as So far, PT Pertamina EP has widened the Sukatani road section by 2.5 km, constructed the Ar-Rasyid Mosque at the Sukawijaya Village Head Office, and repaired the Jami' Arrohimi Attaqwa Mosque located in Sukawijaya Village.

"Pertamina EP not only carries out the mandate to support the availability of oil and natural gas supply and national energy resilience, but also contributes to environmental sustainability and community empowerment in the operating area. Hopefully, the activities and success of these exploration activities bring blessings to us all," said Wazirul Luthfi.

The visit event was continued with tree planting as a manifestation of this oil and gas exploration activity to maintain and contribute to the environment.
