PHE Group Honored with WISCA-WPSCA Award for Exemplary Safety Culture
Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), as the Upstream Subholding of Pertamina, along with its affiliates, including regional divisions and subsidiaries, has been recognized by the World Safety Organization (WSO) for its commitment to safety culture. The awards were presented at the WSO Indonesia-Pakistan Safety Culture Award (WISCA-WPSCA) 2024 ceremony held at Patra Jasa Office Tower, Jakarta, on Tuesday (30/04).
At this prestigious event, Pertamina EP Cepu, representing the Upstream Subholding Pertamina’s Eastern Indonesia Region, achieved five awards from the organizers. The first accolade, the CEO Award for Top Leadership, was awarded to Benny Sidik, General Manager of PT Pertamina EP Zona 13 Donggi Matindok Field & JOB Pertamina Medco EP Tomori Sulawesi.
Furthermore, PT Pertamina EP Cepu was honored with the Safety Culture Program Platinum Category award for PT Pertamina EP Zona 13 Donggi Matindok Field & JOB Pertamina Medco EP Tomori Sulawesi. This recognition underscores their dedication to creating a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and partners.
The same unit also received the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Award, affirming their commitment to sustainable operational practices and attention to environmental, social, and governance impacts.
Further accolades went to PT Badak NGL, another subsidiary of the Upstream Subholding Pertamina, which was awarded the Platinum (5-Star) distinction for exemplary implementation of workplace safety culture. This marks the third WSO award for PT Badak NGL since 2022. Additionally, PT Badak NGL received the WSO Award 2024 for the Concerned Company Award Top Perform Zero Accident and the Concerned ESG Award.
Moreover, PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) and its subsidiary, PT Patra Drilling Contractor (PDC), achieved a Safety Culture Maturity Level 4 or Proactive, earning the 4-Star (Gold) award. Avep Disasmita, President Director of Pertamina Drilling, was also honored with the CEO Award for Top Leadership.
PHE, as the Upstream Subholding of Pertamina, takes pride in these achievements and the recognition received by its affiliates. It is hoped that these awards will further inspire excellence among its officers and promote optimal performance.
Corporate Secretary of PHE, Arya Dwi Paramita, noted that this recognition highlights the serious commitment of the Upstream Subholding officers to maintaining a culture of safety. "The accolades for optimal performance with a focus on ingrained safety culture are a significant achievement. However, they also serve as a catalyst for our officers to further enhance safety practices, ensuring secure and efficient operations across all levels," Arya stated.
The WISCA-WPSCA awards recognize companies and organizations committed to fostering a culture of safety. Since its inception in 2020 by WSO Indonesia, the awards have honored companies achieving at least a Level 3 maturity in safety culture, with categories including Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
The WISCA-WPSCA measures the Safety Culture Maturity Levels of companies, with categories for Level 3 (Calculative), Level 4 (Proactive), and Level 5 (Generative) maturity.
