Strong Commitment to Sustainability Performance, Eastern Indonesia Region Records 171.7 Million Safe Working Hours

Jakarta - The Eastern Indonesia Region recorded a performance of 171.7 million safe working hours for the period of August 2017 to December 2023, which is a commendable achievement in the field of occupational safety. This achievement is a form of commitment and consistency from the Eastern Indonesia Region towards workplace safety aspects and the implementation of ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) aspects, especially related to social aspects where health and safety at work are one of the main indicators.

These efforts also support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) no. 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, which aims to protect workers' rights and promote a safe and secure working environment.

Endro Hartanto, Director of the Eastern Indonesia Region, stated that the company is committed to achieving zero accidents and making occupational safety a top priority in high-risk oil and gas operations. Various efforts are made to enforce the implementation of Safety Management Systems through Corporate Saving Rules (CLSR), Contractor Safety Management System (CSMS), Process Safety & Asset Integrity Management System (PSAIMS), Safe Work Permit System (SIKA), and workplace housekeeping.

"This achievement is evidence that all officers prioritize safety above all else. I am very proud of this accomplishment and hope it serves as encouragement for workers to be more mindful of their own safety and that of their colleagues, company assets, and the surrounding environment. No exceptions, every worker and working partner in the Eastern Indonesia Region must uphold Pertamina's HSSE Golden Rules: Comply - Intervene - Care," said Endro.

Endro added that safe working hours are an important factor in sustainability performance as they increase workers' sense of security, drive productivity, efficiency, and good reputation. "I urge for this positive trend to be maintained and improvement records to be promptly addressed to ensure continuous improvement for future performance enhancements," he emphasized.

Safe working hours are obtained from all work areas in the Eastern Indonesia Region, including Zones 11, 12, 13, and 14. The commitment to maintaining occupational safety in the Eastern Indonesia Region has also been appreciated externally by the company, including five awards in the 2023 Oil and Gas Safety Awards with categories such as No Loss of Working Hours Due to Accidents and Safety Culture Development. The Safety Awards for Oil and Natural Gas in 2023 were given for two categories: No Loss of Working Hours Due to Accidents (PATRA NIRBHAYA) and Safety Culture Development (PATRA KARYA).

These five awards were achieved by Zone 12 of PT Pertamina EP Cepu (Patra Karya Raksa Madya and Patra Nirbhaya Karya Utama Adinugraha II), part of Zone 13 of JOB Pertamina - Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi (Patra Nirbhaya Utama), and Pertamina EP Donggi Matindok Field (Patra Nirbhaya Madya), and part of Zone 11 of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Randugunting (Patra Nirbhaya Pratama).
