Tenggarong - PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) and PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangasanga Field Regional Kalimantan have received four awards for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in the Kutai Kartanegara CSR Award 4th Edition 2023. PHSS received two Gold awards, one in the Economic category for the Balanipa Program and the other in the Biosphere category for the Our Coastal Guardian Program (Japes), as well as one Silver award in the Economic category for the Less Energy More Results (LERES) Program. Meanwhile, PEP Sangasanga received a Silver award in the Economic category for the Aunt Siska Program.

The awards were presented by the Secretary of Kutai Kartanegara Regency, Dr. H. Sunggono, at the Kutai Kartanegara CSR Award 4th Edition event with the theme "CSR Synergy Building an Innovative, Competitive, and Self-Reliant Kutai Kartanegara" at Putri Karang Melenu Hall, Teluk Dalam Village, Tenggarong Seberang, Kutai Kartanegara, on December 27, 2023. The Secretary of Kutai Kartanegara expressed appreciation and congratulations to companies operating in Kutai Kartanegara for their active role with the local government in implementing Community Development Programs (CDP) that have a positive impact on the community.

Zone 9 General Manager Andre Wijanarko explained that CSR or CDP programs must be implemented considering sustainability aspects. "Company CSR programs are developed based on social mapping results of villages in the operational area to ensure positive impacts and program sustainability. In the future, Zone 9 will continue to develop targeted CSR programs that add value to the community," said Andre.

Meanwhile, the Head of Formalities and Communication Department of SKK Migas Kalimantan and Sulawesi Representative, Wisnu Wardhana, also appreciated the achievements of PHSS and Pertamina EP. These achievements also serve as evidence of the government's recognition of the multiplier effect benefits from the presence of upstream oil and gas industries. Wisnu added that the CDP activities of PHSS and PEP Sangasanga in nurturing and developing areas around their operational areas are part of the plan and strategy (Renstra) of Indonesia Oil and Gas (IOG) 4.0.

"For example, the Integrated Farming Program Social Innovation Group Setaria, or abbreviated as Aunt Siska Program, has successfully improved the economic status of farmers through social agricultural innovation. This program is related to two targets in the IOG Renstra, namely increasing the multiplier effect for communities around upstream oil and gas industries and maintaining sustainable environments," Wisnu continued.

The 4th Kutai Kartanegara CSR Award was attended by 33 companies from the plantation and forestry, oil and gas, power generation, and mining sectors. The event aims to build synergy between the government, community, and companies in empowering communities through Corporate Social Responsibility programs.

Meanwhile, Dony Indrawan, Manager of Communication Relations & CID of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia as the parent company, explained the company's confidence in continuing to develop harmonious relationships with communities and local governments to support the sustainability of the company's upstream oil and gas operations, which play a crucial role in providing energy for Indonesia.

"This award reflects the local government's recognition of the positive role of PHSS and PEP Sangasanga operations and the success of the company's CSR programs for the community and the Kutai Kartanegara Regency Government," he concluded.

PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) and PEP Sangasanga are SKK Migas Contractor Cooperation Contractors (KKKS) under Subholding Upstream Regional 3 led by PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia.
