PHE Officially Transfers Management of Siak-Kampar Working Areas to EMP
Pekanbaru, Riau – PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), a subsidiary of Pertamina and Upstream Pertamina Subholding - Regional 1 Sumatera, officially transferred 100% management of the Siak and Kampar working areas to Energi Mega Persada (EMP) on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
The transfer was officially carried out through ceremonies held simultaneously at three locations: Hotel Pangeran Pekanbaru as the main event, Gathering Station (GS) Batang in Rokan Hilir, and Main Collecting Station (SPU) Seikaras in Indragiri Hulu. At precisely 00:01 WIB, Directors and Management from both PHE and EMP jointly rang a long bell to mark the operator transition. The Siak Working Area, previously managed by PHE Siak, is now under EMP Gandewa, while the Kampar Working Area is managed by EMP Energi Riau.
The ceremony was attended by Tri Firmanto, Director of EMP Energi Riau; Kelik Rudi Suharya, Director of EMP Gandewa; and several other leaders from the EMP Group. From Pertamina, attendees included Hari Widodo, General Manager (GM) of Zone 1; Reinhard P. Simanjuntak, Senior Manager of Strategic Planning Regional 1; Asnovifardi, Senior Expert of Business Venture PHE; along with the management of Regional 1, Zona 1, and the transition team.
GM of Zona 1, Hari Widodo, recounted the history of PHE Siak, which was mandated to Pertamina in 2014 from Chevron and PHE Kampar, which was transferred from Stanvac and Medco in 2016. "PHE Siak achieved its highest record of 2,350BPOD, and PHE Kampar 1,500 BPOD. We hope this transfer proceeds smoothly to collectively support the nation's energy needs. Pertamina has prepared personnel to oversee the transition period," stated Hari.
Hari also highlighted the positive impact of PHE Kampar's Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) through various consistent innovations and programs on community life. "PHE Kampar received a Green rating for three consecutive years, 2021, 2022, and 2023, in the Company's Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management (PROPER) by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). In 2023, PHE Kampar was a candidate for the Gold PROPER rating. This should be continued as part of the company's CSR to the surrounding community. If EMP Energi Riau can maintain this consistency, they may achieve the Gold PROPER rating. Pertamina supports the new operator in increasing production and providing benefits for Indonesia, especially in Riau," Hari added.
SKK Migas, which fully supervised this transfer, also provided support and motivation through Rikky Rahmat Firdaus, Head of SKK Migas Representative for North Sumatra (Sumbagut). "As we know, the Siak and Kampar Working Areas have quite mature fields in Riau, serving as significant oil producers. This transfer is like changing drivers but keeping the same mode, full throttle," said Rikky. EMP's lifting targets and work plans presented to SKK Migas require support from all government elements and the Riau community.
The ceremony also saw the presence of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkompimda) in the Siak-Kampar Working Areas, including officials from Kampar, Rokan Hilir, Rokan Hulu, Pelalawan, and Indragiri Hulu. One notable attendee was Kampar Acting Regent, Hambali, along with Assistant II to the Regional Secretary, Suhermi. "We thank Pertamina for its excellent management of the Siak-Kampar Working Areas and its positive contributions to Kampar. Together with EMP as the new operator, we are ready to collaborate and continue the positive activities that have been established," concluded Suhermi during the ceremony.
