Maintaining HSSE Performance, Pertamina Drilling Receives International Award in Malaysia

Malaysia - After achieving outstanding performance throughout 2022, PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) as the Pertamina's Upstream Subholding, has once again being recognized at the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) Southeast Asia Chapter (SEAC) Safety Awards. The awarding ceremony took place on Thursday (29/02), at Impiana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
For its 2023 performance, Pertamina Drilling received accolades in three distinct categories: Best Recordable Incident Rate – Onshore Company, Best Recordable Incident Rate – Onshore Rig for Rig PDSI#23.1/CWKT210-M, and Years Recordable Free – Onshore Rig for Rig PDSI#04.3/N110-M. The IADC's evaluation of these achievements considered rig operating hours, unit rig safety performance, and metrics including fatality rates, Medical Treatment Case Records, and First Aid Cases throughout 2023.
As a member of the IADC, Pertamina Drilling voluntarily reports the HSSE performance of its rigs to the IADC annually, particularly focusing on safety aspects. Throughout 2023, Rig PDSI#23.1/CWKT210-M recorded 3,370,016 safe working hours, while Rig PDSI#04.3/N110-M achieved 5,572,400 safe working hours, having operated for over 13 years without a Lost Time Incident (LTI).
The award was received by Theo Satria, Director of Finance & Administration of Pertamina Drilling, along with the Pertamina Drilling management team. "We hope the success of these rigs will set an example for other Pertamina Drilling rigs to excel both nationally and internationally," expressed Theo.
This achievement is attributed to Pertamina Drilling's consistent implementation of key HSSE programs, such as the Salam Lima Jari initiative and the HSSE Golden Rules: Obey, Care, and Intervention. This year, Pertamina Drilling has also emphasized three main pillars for field operations, as stated by Avep Disasmita, President Director of Pertamina Drilling: "The three crucial pillars for operations are HSSE Excellence, Asset Portfolio Improvement, and Cost Effectiveness. We hope to work together in implementing these pillars and further advancing Pertamina Drilling."
