Elnusa’s Strategic HSSE Achievements in 2024: Better Safe than Sorry!

Jakarta – PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa, IDX: Elnusa), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) under Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, has successfully demonstrated its commitment to health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) throughout 2024. Various strategic and operational achievements in HSSE reflect Elnusa's dedication to creating a safe, healthy, and sustainable working environment for all stakeholders.

Throughout the year, Elnusa consistently implemented various flagship programs to enhance awareness and compliance with HSSE across all operational lines. A key initiative was the execution of 179 Management Walkthroughs (MWTs), involving management teams in monitoring safety standards in the field. Managerial participation in these activities reached 99%, underscoring strong leadership commitment to workplace safety. Furthermore, the Mandatory Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) training achieved 100% implementation across all employees.

In terms of health and safety campaigns, Elnusa prioritized effective and inclusive educational approaches. Campaign activities included digital and printed posters, group discussions, and sharing sessions, reaching all employees and focusing on human performance, mental health, and energy efficiency. This strategic effort ensures that everyone in the workplace understands the importance of collective safety.

Elnusa’s commitment to environmental sustainability was also evident through significant decarbonization contributions. This year, the company recorded a carbon emission reduction of 2,322 tons of CO₂e, a 15-fold increase from the previous year. This achievement aligns with the company’s vision to support a greener and more sustainable energy transition.

In terms of HSSE management systems, Elnusa maintained high standards through comprehensive audits, including ISO series, security management aspects, and Pertamina’s Sustainability Expectations for HSSE Management Excellence (SUPREME). The Hazard Observation Card (HOC) completion rate reached 99%, demonstrating employees’ proactive engagement in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards. Additionally, no fatal incidents were recorded throughout 2024, with the Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) standing at 0.07, significantly below the target of 0.19.

Elnusa also achieved a notable milestone by obtaining a “Light Green” score in the 2024 SUPREME audit. This result reflects that all processes, housekeeping, and risk management at Elnusa comply with established standards and are conducted safely.

To enhance the competency of leadership-level employees, Elnusa conducted HSE 101 training, comprising four modules designed to strengthen understanding of safety standards. Cross-functional inspections were also thoroughly carried out under the Cross Function Inspection program, ensuring all operational processes adhered to established procedures.

Jayanty Oktavia Maulina, Elnusa’s Corporate Communication Manager, stated, “Elnusa is committed to making HSSE a core value in the company’s operations. These achievements are tangible evidence of the hard work of the entire Elnusa team in creating a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment. We believe that through collaboration and shared commitment, Elnusa can continue to uphold and enhance HSSE standards in the future. May God Almighty grant safety in every activity we undertake,” said Jayanty.

With outstanding achievements throughout 2024, Elnusa continues to strengthen its commitment to being an integrated energy services company that prioritizes safety, sustainability, and value creation for all stakeholders. These accomplishments not only reflect the high standards the company upholds but also mark a significant step in Elnusa’s ongoing efforts to support sustainable national energy resilience.
