Pertamina EP Adera Field Continuously Strives for Oil and Gas Operations Reliability

PALI - As one of the Contractor Cooperation Contract (KKKS) under the supervision of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), Pertamina EP (PEP) Adera Field, part of the Sumatera Regional Subholding Upstream Pertamina, undertakes the task of carrying out oil and gas operations in the areas of Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI) and Muara Enim, South Sumatra.

In its operations, PEP Adera Field is included in the Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) Regional Sumatra Zona 4 working area along with 6 other fields, namely Prabumulih Field, Pendopo Field, Limau Field, Ramba Field, Ogan Komering Field, and Raja Tempirai Field.

PEP Adera Field successfully recorded oil and gas production performance in 2023 with oil production of 2,133 barrels of oil per day (bopd) or 137.7% of the target, and gas production of 10.56 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd). This achievement further supports the production goals of PHR Regional Sumatera Zona 4 in efforts to meet national oil and gas production targets.

Adera Field Manager, Dody Tetra Atmadi, stated that the achievement of PEP Adera Field's oil and gas production is supported by reliable operations, both in terms of existing work systems, competent technology, and excellent personnel quality, thus supporting the operational excellence of PEP Adera Field. "Challenges certainly exist, considering that the Adera field has been in operation for a long time or is an old field," said Dody.

Furthermore, Dody explained that the challenges faced include production facilities requiring rejuvenation, susceptibility to natural disasters, and social barriers such as labor demands and the expectations of the company's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program for the benefit of a group of people. In facing these challenges, PEP Adera Field continues to maximize existing resources. Dody admitted to continuously coordinating with SKK Migas South Sumatera Representative (Sumbagsel) in efforts to maintain production facilities to support conducive operational activities.

In the TJSL sector, PEP Adera Field implements activities such as disaster response, reforestation through tree planting, preservation of protected forest flora and fauna, academic scholarships, housing renovations, stunting management, community empowerment, and road construction.

PEP Adera Field has received several awards, including the Green Proper from the Ministry of Environment (KLHK), Best Achievement Oil Production Commitment 2023, Indonesia SDGs Award 2023, Gold and Silver Winner Indonesia Social Innovation Award 2023, IGA Award 2023 in the Pollution Prevention category, and Subroto Award in the Energy Efficiency field 2022.

Responding to the peace action plan from one of the community organizations in PALI, Dody responded positively to it. According to him, the community has the right to express opinions protected by law. Dody stated that Adera Field continues to open communication channels for anyone who wishes to convey aspirations.

"We still hope for support from all parties for the smooth operation of oil and gas activities in PEP Adera Field. We hope that synergy with stakeholders will support the operational excellence of PEP Adera Field so that it can contribute to achieving national oil and gas production," Dody hoped.
