Penurunan PTE ini mengindikasikan adanya penurunan performa efisiensi kilang dalam mengolah feed gas menjadi produk LNG, LPG dan kondensat. Ada 2 faktor utama yang mempengaruhi pencapaian PTE yaitu jumlah konsumsi fuel gas dan jumlah gas losses. Jika dibandingkan dengan tahun 2023, jumlah gas losses pada tahun 2024 mengalami penurunan dari 0,67% ke 0,39% sedangkan pada konsumsi fuel gas terdapat kenaikan dari 13,65% ke 14,51%. Dari kedua data ini diketahui bahwa penurunan PTE diakibatkan oleh kenaikan konsumsi fuel gas yang signifikan. Kenaikan fuel gas ini diakibatkan oleh kondisi penurunan jumlah feed gas yang diterima oleh PT Badak NGL dari 822 MMSCFD pada tahun 2023 menjadi hanya 633 MMSCFD pada tahun 2024. Penurunan feed gasini kemudian menyebabkan kilang harus beroperasi pada load factor yang lebih rendah sehingga menyebabkan kilang harus beroperasi pada tingkat efisiensi yang rendah. Dari penjelasan di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa penurunan realisasi PTE pada tahun 2024 pada dasarnya terjadi karena faktor di luar kendali PT Badak NGL yaitu dari penurunan feed gas sedangkan angka gas losses yang merupakan faktor yang sepenuhnya ada di bawah kendali PT Badak NGL, berhasil diturunkan secara signifikan dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya (berdampak positif terhadap pencapaian PTE).Realisasi FG to LNG ratio pada tahun 2024 mengalami kenaikan sebesar 1,29% dibanding tahun 2023. Kenaikan pada feed gas to LNG ratio mengindikasikan performa konversi feed gasmenjadi produk LNG yang lebih buruk. Penurunan performa ini dapat terjadi dengan alasan yang serupa dengan pencapaian PTE di penjelasan sebelumnya.The realization of Plant Thermal Efficiency (PTE) in 2024 decreased by 0.67% compared to 2023.
